The Spidey-Verse is back: What We Know About Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Movie Sequel!

Oscar Isaac, Issa Rae, Daniel Kaluuya, and Jason Schwartzman are among those who have been added to the Oscar-winning animated show, but there's one casting addition Sony Pictures is keeping under secret. It's the Scarlet Spider, a character the comic book fans of the world will recognize as Peter Parker's clone Ben Reilly.

Speaking to Total Film, director Joaquim Dos Santos stated, "I can't wait for the public to hear who voice his character. It's not yet out yet, but I'm awestruck by this Scarlet Spider character."

It's certainly not out of the the possibility that Scarlet Spider will be used as an opportunity to give Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield a voice cameo. However, it sounds like Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will have a bigger appearance than the actor who performs the clone...

Miles Morales returns for the new chapter in the Oscar-winning Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. After reconnecting together with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn's full-time, friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse and is confronted by the team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence.

However, when the heroes fight over how to deal with an upcoming danger, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and has to rethink what it means to be an hero in order to save those he loves most.

This is Earth Day, an annual celebration that aims to draw attention to global issues and promote the steps needed to protect the environment. Yet, Sony Pictures Animation is making use of the occasion to announce  Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse  that takes place on multiple Earths. On Twitter the official account for Spider-Verse celebrated Earth Day by releasing four new images from the film with each one highlighting a different Earth.

The first picture is on Earth-1610, the home of Miles Morales. And if you look at the right-hand side of the picture you'll notice Miles and Gwen having a flip moment together.
